Creative Idea's

' A process needed for problem solving . . . not a special gift enjoyed by a few but a common ability possessed by most people ' (Jones, 1993)

This is the idea that when you get a problem, anyone can solve it and it doesnt take a special talent to be able to solve it. When it came to me and my partner filming our music video, we had 2 major problems. One of the problems is that are camera's battery life was very limited so it permanantly had to be plugged into to film our footage which limited us to our location. Another problem we encountered with our lighting, the lighting was really poor on our location, so to make things alot more visible, we invested in some industrial floodlights and it worked better than we had expected, our lighting was made perfect.

' The ability to bring something new into existence ' (Anthony Storr)

When it come to being unique and original, my partner and i had already had an idea in our head that we wanted to stick too due to our genre of music. What we did is we planned to shoot our video in a field with a girl using the camera and be narrative as well as performance, but then we decided against this because it wasnt that creative, so we kept it performance based and then changed the location to a hay barn, and although there may be another music video with a hay barn used as the location, we had not seen any, so we thought it was more if a rare idea as oppose to a unique one.

' The making of the new and the rearranging of the old ' (Bentley, 1997)

When we did our ancillary tasks, we looked for inspiration from the artist's such as Jack Johnson and John Mayer. We looked into there album covers and there different albums and any articles or digipaks we had seen of them. After stumbling across one ablum cover by John Mayer named 'Squares' we loved the idea, so we used idea's from the album cover and then mixed it with our own genre and house style that we had to create our own ancillary tasks and we found that it worked really well with out artist.
