Planning A
For my first thriller movie, in order to plan and organise my time and equipment, i had to talk to my partner and see when we were both available to book out necessary equipment and film in the appropriate locations. It worked most of the time, but now and again plans had to be changed due to other school commitments, for example, my partner had a school trip on one night we were supposed to be filming, so we changed the date for later on in the week when we were both free. When it came to my music video, my partner and i decided to do the same thing, but filming just because a lot more frequent, so it showed that the first method we used was well thought out and then it could be applied in the second task, just increased.
Planning B
When i had to decide on the actors in my thriller, i decided to use people that have a lot of free time so they would be open for last minute changes on filming. Location and props were decided when the style of thriller we were shooting was clear, but it was made as a mutual agreement between me and my partner. A problem we encountered was we filmed on two different days and so with the sun being out, there was a lot more natural light, so we had to use colorization to try and blend it in with the first day of shooting. For the music video, once we decided on a performance based video, the artists willing wanted to be in the video and the location came down to me and my partner which was going to be in a field, but after the weather being bad and having lighting issues, we changed the location to a hay barn.
Planning C
There was no script in my storyboard for the thriller opening, due to there being no dialogue in the movie, the storyboard however the on draft was a very rough plan and alot of changes were made on set when filming. This planning was not done very well and was something that i wanted to do more on in my next task. If i was to of done it again in my first task, i would of done alot mroe detailed version for my first draft and then made a second draft as a final version. With the music video, two drafts of our music video were done, the first one a rough idea with our first location and the second was a final version with more detail on our final location. This shows that i saw the mistakes i made from the previous year, learning what to do instead and then putting it into plan.
Planning D
When it came to searching for a target audience, we watched a few thriller movies in and out of school and my partner and i decided that we would want a younger target audience, around 16+. The sort of films that we got inspiration were from 'Kildulthood', using that type of feel to our thriller. The film really helped when it came to location, actors and props as well as the music that went over the film. Again, when it came to creating a target audience for this film, i used the same style of planning like the first film, except to a better quality and quantity. I watched more music video's and looking into artist that were similar to my artist.
Planning E
I started off by watching the opening's of thriller's in my class and then when i realised what to look for, id watch the opening to thriller's in my own time and then when i had find out thr style of thriller i wanted to do, i watched the thriller's that i want to take idea's from. This research really helped a lot when it came to thinking of a style of thriller, because you could take little idea's from loads of different thriller's and put them together to create your own film. The same process was applied for my music video, except that alot more anaylsis was done and background information on the music video was found out.

Creative Idea's

' A process needed for problem solving . . . not a special gift enjoyed by a few but a common ability possessed by most people ' (Jones, 1993)

This is the idea that when you get a problem, anyone can solve it and it doesnt take a special talent to be able to solve it. When it came to me and my partner filming our music video, we had 2 major problems. One of the problems is that are camera's battery life was very limited so it permanantly had to be plugged into to film our footage which limited us to our location. Another problem we encountered with our lighting, the lighting was really poor on our location, so to make things alot more visible, we invested in some industrial floodlights and it worked better than we had expected, our lighting was made perfect.

' The ability to bring something new into existence ' (Anthony Storr)

When it come to being unique and original, my partner and i had already had an idea in our head that we wanted to stick too due to our genre of music. What we did is we planned to shoot our video in a field with a girl using the camera and be narrative as well as performance, but then we decided against this because it wasnt that creative, so we kept it performance based and then changed the location to a hay barn, and although there may be another music video with a hay barn used as the location, we had not seen any, so we thought it was more if a rare idea as oppose to a unique one.

' The making of the new and the rearranging of the old ' (Bentley, 1997)

When we did our ancillary tasks, we looked for inspiration from the artist's such as Jack Johnson and John Mayer. We looked into there album covers and there different albums and any articles or digipaks we had seen of them. After stumbling across one ablum cover by John Mayer named 'Squares' we loved the idea, so we used idea's from the album cover and then mixed it with our own genre and house style that we had to create our own ancillary tasks and we found that it worked really well with out artist.
